Promotion of various contraception methods for spacing as well as permanent sterilization are undertaken, including the role of emergency contraceptive pill which is used as an emergency measure to prevent pregnancy in an event following unprotected sex.

Two types of method:

  1. Temporary Methods: IUCD/ PPIUCD
  • Oral Pills
  • Emergency Contraceptives
  • Condoms

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS

For Emergency use only

Emergency Contraceptive should not be used routinely to prevent pregnancy. Regular contraceptives (condoms, pills, injectables, IUDS, sterilization, etc.) are more effective and have fewer side effects.  If you want more information about regular contraceptives or if you are getting trouble using a method, ask your health care provider for help choosing a method that works for you.
